The shortlist has been revealed!

We are proud and excited to announce Ger’s Smoked Mackerel Pâté and CJ’s Healthy Granola,  available exclusively at The Q Café Company Ltd, have been shortlisted for the finals of the  prestigious Irish Quality Café Food and Drink Awards 2015!

Being short-listed as a finalist from an expert judging panel comprised of chefs, chef-lecturers,  home economists, food writers, consultants, restaurateurs, food technologists and representatives  from regional food groups, is a huge honor for us. It recognises the hard work and dedication of the  team at The Q Café Company and the important contribution of each of our Chef’s to innovation  and the development of new and exciting food creations in their restaurants for our customers  daily.

 

CJ’s Healthy Granola provides a light, unique breakfast, one which would sustain hunger right through the morning. This crunchy nutty product is made from the freshest of local Irish ingredients. Using Dublin Mountain Honey, produced by the Murphy Family from Glencullen and Flahavans Porridge Oats this sugar free Granola is best served with natural yoghurt and/or fresh fruit and berries.

Ger’s Smoked Mackerel Pâté is made by combining a few simple ingredients and the result is a creamy, tangy and tasty product that’s versatile to serve. Paired with the likes of carrot or celery sticks Ger’s Pâté is a fantastic all-year-round starter that will tantalise discerning palates.  Just two quenelles of this pâté served with toasted sliced baguette, salads or seasonal vegetables and you’ve got a deliciously classy main course. The Mackerels naturally high levels of Omega 3 oil appeals to health conscious consumers, looking for something filling and nutritious and due to its inexpensive cost, it makes for a great family meal too.

The Irish Quality Cafe Food and Drinks Awards set out to recognise excellence in great tasting products, with the finest of flavours, textures and aromas. They reward nutritious products, with the finest ingredients lists, while also recognising innovation, great packaging and presentation for food and drink producers, retailers and catering companies in Ireland.

The judging took place in July at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology a leading provider of education, training and research for the culinary industry in Ireland.

Commended and Highly Commended products will receive awards and be given a corresponding logo that they can use to promote their products.

The winners will be announced at the Oak Room in the Mansion House, Dublin, on 16th September at 6.15pm followed by a three course dinner so we will update you on any Q Café Company winners on the night!
