Fundraising For Cystic Fibrosis Ireland
We have been strong supporters of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CF) since we began operating in 1999. As part of our corporate social responsibility we run two signature fundraising road-shows each year. The Q Bake of In Aid of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, and Cycle for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Here we raise awareness of CF in Ireland, with regards to it’s prevalence and symptoms, and all important money.
Ireland has the highest prevalence of CF in the world. 1 in 19 Irish people carry one copy of the altered gene that causes CF! We’re working hard on fundraising allowing for medical and scientific research aimed at understanding, managing and treating CF in Ireland.

Q Bake Off For Cystic Fibrosis Ireland
€2402.45 for CF Ireland in Q Bake Off!
In it’s second year our charity fundraising Q Bake Off was held in November. With prizes on offer we invited customers to bring all manner of cakes and bakes for the Q Bake Off to be judged by their peers and our team. Of course we also bake a few things too!
Throughout the country our customers brought in bakes of all manner of shapes and sizes. We successfully promoted the importance of CF Ireland. Additionally, we communicated the charity’s need public support to fund new CF units around the country. These include dedicated in-patient, day care and out-patient facilities.
The willingness of our customers to engage in conversation surrounding their positive experiences of this wonderful charity was fantastic. We would be nowhere without the support of our clients promoting this event amongst their staff. We are also indebted to own our restaurant staff who promoting the event daily. Of course, our wonderful customers baking and donating for CF Ireland was incredible. Thank you to all!
Many thanks to Keelings for supplying fruit hampers as prizes to each Q Bake Off event in the roadshow!
An additional €600 was raised for the Irish Hospice Foundation and the Peter McVerry Trust upon clients’ request.

Cycle for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland
€2,493 Raised and 3182km Cycled in Cycle For Cystic Fibrosis Ireland
In it’s inaugural year the charity Cycle for CF fundraising roadshow was a huge success in May. Partnering with Hire Fitness Ireland we brought spin bikes right across the country. Using cycling, an exercise depending on lung function, we successfully highlighted how CF mainly affects the lungs. Often with persistent coughing, at times with phlegm; frequent lung infections; wheezing or shortness of breath.
Keelings is a major supporter of our charity corporate social responsibility efforts. They kindly donated fruit hampers to every charity roadshow as prizes. Customers cycled from 1km to 101km each. Many hopping on the bikes multiple times, others booking off an entire hour of their day to cycle for us.
Many thanks to CF Ireland CEO Phillip Watt and CF sufferer Fionn Renaudin for dropping into our event at SSC Sports Medicine Clinic to support. Fionn, godson of our managing director Breda Quigley, is the reason we support CF Ireland. So, will will continue to do so to fund advice, information and advocacy services; and exercise, transplant and fertility grants for CF sufferers.
Q Cafe Company donated the entire cost of bike rental and transportation throughout the country. As such we hope to assist fundraising efforts to shape government policy on Cystic Fibrosis services. We also hope to assist fundraising for campaigning to improve lung transplantation rates in Ireland.
Thank you to everyone who cycled, donated and supported our event in May!
