Every Single Breath is a Gift
Once again this year our lovely band of ladies took on the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and their 1 in 1000 Campaign. The long standing charity of The Q Cafe Company, we recruited and ran with a great team of 9 this year. A hot, humid day left our ladies tired and lethargic however all in great spirits. In addition, the atmosphere was fantastic in the Cystic Fibrosis Ireland base at DTwo Harcourt Street, with ladies from all over the country dawning the purple colours of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is very close to the heart of Managing Director Breda Quigley. We began fundraising for CF Ireland upon the birth of her Godson, Fionn, who was diagnosed with CF. Eighteen years later we are still going strong! We promote awareness of CF in all of our sites while all charitable donations go to CF Ireland. Please join us in wishing Fionn the very best of luck in the Leaving Certificate over the coming weeks!
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetically inherited disease that primarily affects the
lungs and the digestive system. Ireland has the highest incidence of CF in the world – approximately 1 in 19 Irish people are said to ‘carry’ one copy of the altered gene that causes CF.
Take a look at this fantastic video on how exercise can greatly help those with Cystic Fibrosis…
